2020 gab es noch 6 verschiedene City Pässe in London, sodass es nicht ganz einfach war, den richtigen Pass für den Urlaub zu finden. Seit 2022 bietet London nur noch 4verschiedene City Pässe an, was das Sightseeing in London wesentlich einfacher macht.
Meistens enthalten die Pässe ein Ticket für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel in London und freien oder reduzierten Eintritt zu den bekannten Sehenswürdigkeiten in London. Ähnlich wie der London City Pass ist der The London Pass für 1, 2, 3, 6, oder 10 aufeinanderfolgende Tage erhältlich. 1 Tag sind dabei keine 24 Stunden, sondern 1 Kalendertag (das gilt übrigens auch für den London City Pass). Ihr solltet also möglichst früh morgens mit dem Besichtigen beginnen. Zum Pass könnt ihr eine Oyster Card (für 15 Pfund) dazubuchen.
The London Pass bietet freien Eintritt zu über 80 Attraktionen in London. Das London Eye, dieAussichtsplattform The Shard, den Tower of London und den Kensingston Palace könnt ihr mit dem The London Pass kostenlos besichtigen. Streng genommen gibt es dafür auch keine allgemeine Antwort, da die entscheidenden Faktoren immer individuell sind. Der London City Pass und The London Pass sind die vollständigsten Pässe und eignen sich vor allem für London Erstbesucher und all diejenigen, die in kurzer Zeit möglichst viel von London sehen möchten.
Folgende Fragen solltet ihr euch vor der Auswahl eures London City Passes stellen:
- An wie vielen Tagen möchte ich Sehenswürdigkeiten in London besichtigen?
- Möchte ich viele Attraktionen in kurzer Zeit besichtigen oder lieber in Ruhe nur wenige Sehenswürdigkeiten in London erkunden?

Eine der wichtigsten ist wieviele Tage ihr in der Stadt bleibt. Denn es macht einen Unterschied, ob ihr 1 Tag, 2, Tage, 3 Tage oder 4 Tage (und mehr) in London weilt.
- 1 Tag: Wenn ihr ein Tag in London bleibt, lohnt sich einen Citypass nicht.Interessant wird der Pass erst, wenn ihr mindesten 3 Sehenswürdigkeiten am gleichen Tag besucht. Das schafft man eher selten an einem einzigen Tag und wenn, dann wird es ein sehr anstrengender Tag! Empfehlenswert ist es, an einen Tag 1 oder 2 Sehenswürdigkeiten einzuplanen und sich Zeit zu lassen, um die Stadt entspannt zu entdecken.
- 2 Tage: Für 2 Tage lohnen sich der Citypass von Turbopass, der London Pass sowie der London Pass Explorer. Allerdings ist da der Citypass von Turbopass interessanter, er ist günstiger und die Auswahl der inbegriffenen Aktivitäten ist ausreichend für 2 Tage!
- 3 Tage: Ab dem dritten Tag sind alle Citypässe interessant und ihr spart Geld. Hier stellt sich im Endeffekt nur die Frage, was ihr für eure London-Reise geplant habt und was ihr genau sehen möchtet.
- 4 Tage & mehr: Wenn ihr 4 Tage (und mehr) in London bleibt, solltet ihr euch generell definitiv eine City Card holen! Ihr könnt nämlich bis zu 50% Geld auf Eintritte sparen. Für einen Tag London braucht ihr ehrlich gesagt keinen Citypass, sondern könnt euch einfach von der Stadt überraschen & treiben lassen. Für einen Kurztrip von 2-3 Tagen lohnt sich ein London City Pass. Interessant ist der London City Pass von Turbopass für 2 oder 3 Tage. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt seid ihr mit dem The London Pass gut beraten.

Wer in kurzer Zeit viel sehen und dabei Geld sparen möchte, für den lohnen sich der London City Pass von Turbopass und The London Pass.Mit den London City Pässen hat man zwar zu vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten freien Eintritt, doch nur selten heißt das auch Eintritt ohne Anstehen. Wer vor allem Zeit sparen will, sollte statt einem Pass eher Einzeltickets ohne Anstehen kaufen. Diese sindallerdings insgesamt etwas teurer als ein London City Pass.
